Honey!!!! We got an invitation to the Schultz wedding! This is pretty cool, it is an invitation to a beach wedding. Wow, we have never been to a beach wedding before. Now the big question is, what to wear?

Two Dudes

What to wear to a Beach Wedding

Guayabera

Linen Drawstring Pants

Truman Linen Shorts

Sun-Setter Oxford Shorts

If you get the beach wedding invite, most likely the invite to this memorable special day will provide the details on the attire that is expected. And, two important questions are:

  • Is a blazer/jacket required, or is a button-down shirt enough?
  • Are shorts preferred, or are long pants mandatory?

If the wedding invitation emphasizes that the dress code for the event is casual, or if the invite says shorts are OK, then go ahead and show off those legs. Otherwise, it is best to wear long pants. Likewise, if a blazer/jacket is optional, a button-down shirt is the way to go. Of course, If you are not sure, it is perfectly fine to ask the host what attire is recommended.

Linen Shirt and Shorts

In all cases, the material that will keep you looking good and the most comfortable throughout the beach ceremony and reception is linen!!! Those familiar with Madda Fella know that linen is: breathable, lightweight, hypoallergenic, and moisture-wicking.  Linen provides a soft, pleasing feel that keeps you dry and comfortable from the wedding vows, right on through to the last dance.

Beach Wedding Shirts –

Caribbean Blue

Most likely the beach wedding will be in a tropical setting. To keep as cool as possible, we recommend lighter color linen shirts. Our long sleeve Ernest Linen Solid colors include light colors like Sail White, Island Coral, Sea Glass, and Caribbean Blue, and are all excellent choices.

Sail White Accent

If you want to add a little extra flair, long sleeve Ernest Linen Accent Shirts are a great choice. Wonderful colors but also with some added panache. These accents on the cuff, collar, and placket add a touch of sophistication with the bold tropical prints.

Rooster print

If short sleeves are your preference, our collection of short sleeve linen shirts is equally impressive. Naturally, there are solid colors like white, sky blue, and light green, but also some eye-catching Caribbean patterns like mojito, pineapple, and tropical palm prints.

Guayabera

If you prefer a more unique distinctive look, check out our short sleeve classic Cuban-born Guayabera. This classic shirt has four front pockets, and vertical pleats, with subtle flamingoes woven into the pattern for a touch of Key West style.

Beach Wedding Bottoms –

Linen pants

For long pants, there is our perfect choice to go with any of our shirt recommendations. Linen Drawstring Pants, one of our best-selling items, is ideal. Flat front styling with two deep front slash pockets, hook and bar closure, and drawstring at the waistline. You need to be comfortable for a long day celebrating, and comfort never looked so good. Three great colors to choose from including white, to go with any shirt.

Linen shorts

When the invite calls for casual,  we have the shorts for you. Our Truman Linen Shorts, have a 10-inch inseam, with a single button closure, a flat front, and seam side pockets for a classic look. They come in a variety of colors for the ideal pairing with your linen shirts.

Blue marline poplin

One final offering is something that will truly set you apart from the crowd is our Sun-Setter Oxford Shorts. These are all cotton shorts and come in 9- or 11-inch inseam options. They will put you into an island state of mind with their tropical prints that add a fun-loving style to your look. Front slash pockets and button-through back pockets, and most of these patterns match the Ernes Linen accent print shirts as shown in the photo above.

Enjoy the Celebration

Beach weddings with the sun, sand, and surf enhance the splendor of this unforgettable day for everyone. A toast and salute to the loving couple and all the family and friends.

One final recommendation, if you are wearing slip-on shoes to the beach wedding, apply some baby powder to your feet before putting on your shoes. Not only will this help to keep you dry, but it will prevent sand from sticking to your feet!!!!
