Take home a piece of the island with a one-of-a-kind painting or giclée by Key West artist Amanda Johnson. A student of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Amanda’s tropical impressionistic style captures Key West and the Caribbean’s vivid color and soothing energy.
Many of Amanda’s paintings are created “en plein air” (or outdoors) where the beauty of her subject matter surrounds her. Using a palette knife and heavy brushwork, Amanda brings her subjects alive — whether it’s a sparkling ocean under a setting sun or one of the island’s iconic gypsy chickens. Her style allows her to layer color to create beautiful depth and detail.
